Detection and complete genome sequence of a divergent isolate of cucumber fruit mottle mosaic virus on Coccinia grandis in Sudan

چکیده

Cucurbit-infecting tobamoviruses known so far belong to six acknowledged or tentative species. Except for cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV), which is present worldwide, they are geographically restricted, mostly Asia, and have not been observed in Africa far. A tobamovirus isolate infecting a wild Coccinia grandis plant was collected central Sudan 2012. Its host range appeared be limited cucurbits. full-length genome sequence determined found 85% identical those of isolates fruit (CFMMV) described Israel Korea, whereas the aa identity CFMMV 92 95%, depending on protein. Based its biological molecular properties, we suggest that Sudanese should considered divergent CFMMV. This first description Africa. high divergence from Korea suggests lack recent exchanges between other populations.

First Complete Genome Sequence of an Emerging Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus Isolate in North America

The complete genome sequence (6,423 nucleotides [nt]) of an emerging cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) isolate on cucumber in North America was determined through deep sequencing of small (sRNA) and rapid amplification of cDNA ends. The virus shares 99% nucleotide sequence identity with the Asian genotype but only 90% with the European genotype.

Complete Genome Sequence of a Tomato Mottle Mosaic Virus Isolate from the United States

Tomato mottle mosaic virus was recently reported from the United States following its original description from Mexico as a novel Tobamovirus species. We present the first complete genome sequence of a tomato mottle mosaic virus isolate from the United States.

First Complete Genome Sequence of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus Isolated from Australia

We present here the first complete genome sequence of the tobamovirus Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) from Australia, obtained from an infected cucumber plant. Compared with other CGMMV genomes, its closest nucleotide identities were 99.6% to KP772568, 99.3% to KF155229, and 99.1% to DQ767631 from Canada, Israel, and India, respectively.

The complete nucleotide sequence of cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (SH strain) genomic RNA.

The complete nucleotide sequence of the genomic RNA of cucumber green mottle mosaic virus watermelon strain SH (CGMMV-SH) was determined using cloned cDNA. This sequence is 6421 nucleotides long containing at least four open reading frames, which correspond to 186K, 129K, 29K and 17.3K proteins. The 17.3K protein is the coat protein. Sequence analysis shows that CGMMV-SH is very closely related...

Complete Genome Sequence of a Tomato-Infecting Tomato Mottle Mosaic Virus in New York.

The complete genome sequence of an isolate of tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) infecting tomatoes in New York was obtained using small RNA (sRNA) deep sequencing. ToMMV_NY-13 shared 99% sequence identity with isolates from Mexico and Florida. Broader distribution of this emerging virus is a cause for concern to the tomato industry.
